Mia Shanté, Founder
A Chicago native and your neighborhood vegan, Mia, decided to dedicate her life to physical and spiritual wellness. It all began with one pole spin…the Firefly, and boy has Mia flown since then. She walked away from her life in television production on the brink of a major promotion to pursue her newfound passions of pole dance and fitness. Since then, Mia has become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist, PoleMoves Master Trainer, 2014 National Figure Competitor, 2015 Pacific Pole Championships Level 4 Dramatic Champion and 2015 Paragon Latin America Championships 1st Runner Up!
Determined to share her love of both pole fitness and wellness, Ms. Shanté created Strong 4 Pole, once a 6 week workshop, now the "go-to" program for health & fitness.
Mia stands firm in believing, and shares daily with her members, "anything is possible if one just dares to dream."
Sasja Lee, Co-Owner
Hailing from Jamaica, Sasja became an instructor within only 4 months of being introduced to pole fitness. Having no athletic or dance background, she took to the pole like a fish to water and for the past 9 years, has made pole dance a main fixture in her life.
This 4x Professional Pole Champion has performed at Coachella with recording artist, Halsey, choreographed a pole dance segment for Christina Applegate on funnyordie.com and appeared on several pole dancing segments for network TV including, Telemundo, Lifetime, Justin TV, a Fiat commercial and a music video with Fergie. She has shared her love of pole dance across the nation and abroad, teaching workshops, with emphasis on technique and overall mental wellness.
For someone who once considered shopping her cardio, she now has a deeper appreciation for the connection of body and spirit through the art of dance. "Every woman should give it a try. Your spirit will thank you for it”.
Shay Ramirez, Ambassador of Buzz, Pole Instructor
Shay, a vibrant dancer from the Bay Area, found her passion in fitness born from a desire to become the best version of herself in mind and body. Once she found the positivity in living a healthier lifestyle, she couldn’t help but share her passion, so that others may find it in themselves.
Since then she has become an ACE certified group fitness instructor and certified in dance from the International Dance Academy. She has trained with trainers like Shaun T, Chalene Johnson and Autumn Calabrese and choreographers like Galen Hooks (La La Land, Janet Jackson, Neyo) and Reina Hidalgo (P!nk).
"Imagine reaching inside yourself and grabbing your soul. You cradle it in your hands and show it to the world. Everyone can see your emotions, vulnerabilities and thoughts. You feel free and there are no limits. Thats what dance is to me."
EMILY HECKEL, POLE INSTRUCTOR
I walked into my first pole class 10 years ago, desperately searching for something different. I was a new mom, had no dance experience and a stranger to any gym. After my first spin on the pole, I knew my life had been changed, and I haven’t looked back since. Dance has become an escape, a sanctuary, creative outlet and incredible workout. It has helped me to connect with my inner goddess that was dying to get out and be seen and given me a strength I never knew I had. I hope to create a space for women to get out of their heads and unapologetically express the unique, erotic and sensual movement that lives inside them.
Stephanie, pole instructor
Dance forces me to be present and intentional. I love the initial discomfort of being uncertain, doubtful and shy. My mind runs with, “What do I look like? Is this right? I’m not as good as them. Why did I wear this?” It’s always difficult to take the first step and get out of my head. But once I start moving, that discomfort transforms and melts into just being, living. Dance means I can be anyone I want to be.
